LIMINAL: Revealing the Concepts and Practices of Art and Society
Through this reading, in the art project “LIMINAL,” Cemeti Art House invites artists from various arts disciplines (visual art, performance art, literature, film, music) to reveal and remap the practice and concepts of “art and society” that have taken place, outside of traditional relations, and embark into a liminal experience.In the "LIMINAL” project, artists are encouraged to cross the boundaries of autonomous zones, explore new areas, seek new possibilities for meaning and the formation of relations between artists, work, art scene and broader society, without leaving behind or sacrificing the artistic capital of their art practice.
LIMINAL 1: Mulyakarya (Comic Activist)
‘Rock Show’- an exhibition and auction of gemstones, presents a local gemstone collector and expert, Dwijoko Harianto. A pre-exhibition for gemstones lover will be held on June 4th, 2015, at 4 pm in Cemeti Art House.
LIMINAL 2: Yosep Anggi Noen (Film Director)
‘ Agenda: Continuity‘ – An installation of film settings, ‘Cinematic possibilities’.
LIMINAL 3: Habsari Banyu Jenar (Literateur)
‘Underrated = Fig Soup’ (an installation of phrases on the floor, and on the wall) and
‘I Think God is a Woman’ (a sound installation of a short story reading)
LIMINAL 4: Elia Nurvista (Visual Artist)

LIMINAL 5: Nindityo Adipurnomo (Visual Artist)
‘Tekor Tilas’ - The Art of Walking Tour. Route: Cemeti Art House, Chinese Antique Porcelain TIRTA, Komaruddin Mosque, Ark Galerie, and Krack! studio & gallery.
LIMINAL 6: Natasha Gabriella Tontey (Visual Artist)
‘The Cautionary Tales’ - installation, video streaming, and 10 minutes theatrical performance. The performance will be presented twice in an empty house at Maga/ Kee Gie intersection; group of professional actors on June 5, 2015, at 4.30 pm and a group of non actors on June 6, 2015, at 4.30 pm. The performance can also be accessed simultaneously at Cemeti Art House through a projection on the screen.
LIMINAL 7: Gatot Danar Sulistiyanto (Musicologist and Composser)
‘Santiswara’ - Interactive music reading and live concert. The “Auction Game” will be carried out on 4th of June 2015, at 7.30 pm at Cemeti Art House. The concert will take place live on June 7th, 2015, 07.30 pm in Cemeti Art House.
LIMINAL 8: Timoteus Angga (Visual Artist and Researcher)
“Anatomy of The (lost) Memory”, Collective remembering through institutional art. Collective remembering through institutional art. A story tracing the mystery on Gonomanggala-Sangid Monument, by a researcher, Daliho Kusbirin – Director of Study for Runcuk Land.
