Nicole Baros is ‘ON’ at Cemeti Art House from November 20th until the end of January, 2010. Nicole is a researcher from Leiden University working on her MPhil dissertation concerning the Position of Women Artists in Contemporary Indonesian Art.

Her topic stems from a socio-political view point, looking at the key factors of religion and recent legislation. Nicole has been working with Contemporary Indonesian art in the Netherlands for the past two years. Her most recent involvement was constructing the critical catalogue for the “Beyond the Dutch” exhibition at the Centraal Museum Utrecht which ran from October 17th, 2009 until January 10th, 2010.

During her stay in Yogyakarta, she will be conducting research around Yogyakarta city as well as participating in an internship at the Cemeti Art House.
